Celebrating Christmas at Penrhyn Castle

Twinkling lights and decked out halls bring a warmth to Penrhyn Castle over the Christmas period. The lavish interiors provide a rich backdrop for a mix of traditional and modern Christmas decorations. During our Christmas opening hours, we encourage you to spend time in these impressive rooms, whether you’re making a Christmas craft in the drawing room or settling down with a book in the library.

Re-visit some of your favourite board games in our games room or grab a festive hot drink from the stables café. Take a stroll through the grounds towards our frosty Walled Garden where can get your festive family photo in our giant wreath.

Join us at Penrhyn Castle this Christmas and spend time connecting with your loved ones.

Opening times at Christmas

  • Open every weekend from 25 November to 17 December
  • On weekdays from 18 December to 22 December
  • Everyday from 27 to 31 December

Booking your tickets

If you're planning on visiting during the weekends before Christmas, we highly recommend booking your castle entry. There are entry slots every half an hour between 10am and 2.30pm, and these slots are for entry into the house itself. You're welcome to arrive onsite beforehand to explore the gardens or head to the cafe. There are tickets for members and non-members; non-members can pay online and there will be no additional fee upon arrival, just bring in your email confirmation to the Visitor Welcome Centre upon arrival. Members can book their slot for free, but they will need to bring their membership cards with them to the Visitor Welcome Centre. During the week before and after Christmas there is no need to book.
