About Diwali Known to many as the ‘Festival of Light’ Diwali is the most celebrated festival in India and is observed by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs. Held over five days in late autumn, its date shifts yearly based on the lunar calendar.
While Diwali means different things to different religions, people and communities, it is united by themes of light, hope, and renewal. Many people light diyas (traditional clay oil lamps) and decorate the entrances of their homes with rangolis.
Diwali is a time for reflection, joy, and togetherness, bringing families and communities together in celebration. Whether you are reconnecting with your roots or discovering something new, everyone is warmly invited to join us to experience Diwali at Powis Castle and Garden.
