Christmas at Berrington Hall

It’s that time of year once again when we invite you to enjoy Christmas in true 18th-century style. So why not step back in time and indulge in some very Georgian festivities?

Gather for a Georgian Christmas in the mansion

Berrington Hall is taking you back to the Georgian era this Christmas. Discover traditional decorations, atmospheric evening lighting, fireplaces brimming with dried flowers, magnificent Christmas trees and a unique 'below stairs' experience.

Saturday 18 November – Saturday 23 December

  • From Monday 6 November, Berrington will move to winter opening. This means that on weekdays the house will be open for guided tours only. The house will be open as usual on weekends.

Wednesday 27 December - Sunday 7 January

  • From Wednesday 27 December, the mansion will be open daily. There will be no guided tours of the house during this time.
  • Berrington Hall will be closed on 23, 24 and 25 December.

Make a Christmas wreath

Indoors, the Senior Gardener is hosting wreath-making workshops using materials and fresh greenery from the garden. Each workshop last an hour and a half, and will be taking place on the following dates:

  • Saturday 2 December
  • Thurday 7 December
  • Wednesday 13 December
  • Saturday 16 December

'Deck the halls' childrens trail

Step back in time and find all the Georgian decorations needed to deck the halls at Berrington Hall this Christmas. This trail will be running from 18 November to 7 January. Trails cost £3 per person and include a bag, colouring sheet, colouring pencils, and a prize.

Festive food and drink

Pop into the Old Servants' Hall tea-room for your favourite light refreshments and snacks, including hot chocolate, sandwiches and warming one-pots. Don't forget to try the festive menu.
