It’s that time of year once again when we invite you to enjoy Christmas in true 18th-century style. So why not step back in time and indulge in some very Georgian festivities? Don’t miss the Christmas wreath making workshops too.
16 November – 6 January
Berrington Hall is taking you back to the Georgian era this Christmas. Discover traditional decorations, atmospheric lighting, fireplaces brimming with dried flowers, magnificent Christmas trees and a unique 'below stairs' experience.
Weekday house tours – On weekdays from Monday 4 November, the house will be open for guided tours only at 11am and 1pm. This is your chance to get a behind the scenes peak behind closed doors during the magical winter and Christmas period. No booking required.
Weekend house opening – During the weekend, the house will be fully open as normal from 11am until 4pm. No booking required.
Berrington Hall will be closed on the 24, 25 and 26 December.

Take home a very special festive memento of your visit to Berrington.
Join the head gardener David for a small group workshop making festive wreaths from greenery picked from our gardens to display at home.

16 November – 5 January
Step back in time this Christmas with our Jolly Georgian Trail which offers an engaging glimpse into the playful pastimes of Georgian games and toys. This trail invites you to follow a series of stations each highlighting Georgian themed activities. Try your luck with Blind Man's Bluff, Bowling and Christmas Hobby Horses to bring history to life with play.
Purchase a trail for £3 from the visitor reception to take part in our Georgian activities trail which includes a prize (normal admission applies).
7 and 8 December - 11am to 4pm
Our fabulous bookshop volunteers will be putting on a beautiful display of vintage books for sale, that have been donated to us here at Berrington Hall. Come along and find something old and interesting to take away as a memento of your visit or to gift someone else this festive season.
21 and 22 December - 10am to 4pm
Step back in time and experience Georgian elegance at its finest with a horse and carriage ride that will lead you right up to the front of the neoclassical mansion, enjoying scenic views out across Capability Brown's final landscape masterpiece.
There is no need to book; rides will be available all day from 10 am to 4 pm. Cash payment only. Prices: £4 per adult, £3 per child.
The gardens and parkland at Berrington Hall are the perfect retreat for you, your friends, and family in the lead-up to Christmas. Immerse yourself in the beauty of winter nature with a gentle or brisk walk, and take a break from the hustle and bustle as you explore the acres. See if you can spot some festive surprises too.
During winter, the parkland will be open every day from 10am to 4pm. The whole of Berrington is closed on 24, 25 and 26 December.
Once you’ve explored the outdoors head to the Old Servants’ Hall tearoom for warming drinks and festive treats throughout the Christmas period.
