Conservation in your hands
A touch trail on the ground floor of the house working with collection items and handling collection items so that you can see the effect of conservation.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
This half term we will have a trail throughout the ground floor of the house with a selection of items visitors can handle. Some will be items previously tarnished by touch, others are 50% covered, 50% uncovered so that visitors will actively help us with our conservation messaging later on in the year with the results of the handling of the item. We invite visitors to also look at pieces of collection that have previously been damaged and are unable to be handled due to their fragility and think about the way they interact with objects. We also have four hessian bags in four of our spaces to guess the item in.
