Summer of Play at Hanbury Hall

Join us for a jam-packed summer of games and activities in the gardens at Hanbury Hall everyday between Saturday 19 July and Sunday 31 August.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Get ready to play as you step into a world of creativity and colour, with all the excitement of a traditional village fete mixed in. This year’s Summer of Play is inspired by the magnificent wall paintings inside the Hall, and the Victorian fetes held by the Vernon family.

Challenge your family to play traditional fete games including coconut shy, hoopla, and tin can alley. Dance around a giant maypole, dress up as historic characters and put on your own show, and get your heart pumping with games of football, badminton, and cricket.

There are also activities for young children to enjoy including building blocks, a mud kitchen, and sensory games.

Enjoy a fun-filled timetable of events on weekdays which will include: Mondays: Storytelling Tuesday: Circus Skills Wednesday: Bracelet Making Thursday: Dance Workshops Friday: Art Workshops Please check the face painting event page for face painting dates.

Summer of Play is sponsored by Starling Bank.
