Fruit Tree Pruning Class

Join local social enterprise Fruit Works as they teach you the theory and practice of winter fruit tree pruning.

  • Booking essential

Pruning a fruit tree requires a different approach to pruning regular trees and should be done in the winter to maintain a healthy shape and size and to ensure they will fruit plentifully for future decades.

Trees that are never pruned can grow into an unmanageable shape and size, making it difficult to harvest their fruit or even causing branches to snap off. They are more susceptible to diseases due to the reduced light and air circulation around the branches. Neglected fruit trees also become less productive over time as branches become weak and crowded.

Join local social enterprise Fruit Works as they teach you the theory and practice of winter fruit tree pruning including theory and a practical session on the East Riddlesden Hall fruit trees.

This course will take place entirely outside Remember to wear clothes and footwear appropriate for the weather, mud, and uneven ground!
