Guided Walk: See the Heather Blooming

Join us on a walk to enjoy the purple-tinged moorland

By now the heather should be in full bloom, so join us to enjoy the purple-tingled moorland and there may still be Bilberries around to snack on. This comfortably paced walk will involve some uphill stretches taken at a speed to suit everyone in the group. Boots recommended.

This walk is 5 miles and will take approx. 3 hours.

This walk is designed for children who are comfortable with the distance.

Meeting point

Meet at the Marsden offices (Information Room The Old Goods Yard Station Road, Huddersfield HD7 6DH)

What to bring and wear

Please bring suitable clothing and outdoor footwear.

Other

Children welcome. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time of the walk so we can cover relevant safety information. Please wear suitable clothing for the changeable weather in Marsden and sturdy footwear. Bring a picnic (or: please bring plenty to drink and snacks). Suggested donation of £3 which goes towards running these walks and restoring the moorland.
