An Inspired Christmas
Step into a memorable festive experience, where history meets Christmas charm
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
This festive season, experience Christmas at Treasurer's House. Inspired by the captivating stories of the past residents of this premier postcode.
The decorations are not always what you might expect. Many have been handcrafted by our dedicated team of volunteers or local groups, adding a personal touch to each room’s unique design. Every corner has a story to tell, with bespoke touches and hidden details waiting to be discovered. Looking for something for smaller visitors? Spot the locally crafted stained-glass stars as you wander through the house.
Last entry to the house is 3.30pm. No booking needed and house tours are paused during the festive season.
Quieter visits are available every Wednesday from 2 - 4pm with lights up and music off. On Tuesdays the conservation team will be working on the collection for a different look at a historic house in winter. And on Sunday 7 December, the Minster Minstrels will perform in the Great Hall.
Enjoy seasonal treats in the downstairs café - house ticket not required. And head to the nearby National Trust shop for unique gifts and festive treats from Yorkshire artisans.
