Get hands-on with traditional crafts alongside our partners, Sheffield Coppice Workers. See their skills in action and have a go yourself.
We're delighted to welcome Sheffield Coppice Workers, who have been laying hedges in the parkland this year. You'll find them beneath the trees as you cross the ha-ha bridge at the entrance to the gardens. They'll demonstrate traditional woodland crafts, talk about the many uses of coppiced hazel, and share how their work helps regenerate woodlands for ecological and human harmony. Visitors can try their hand at shaping hazel on a shave horse and see how a traditional three-legged stool is made using hand tools.
