As the spirit and human worlds collide, sneaky goblins, cunning beggars and Stranger Folk are slipping through the crack to stir up trouble. Gather your team, harness the elements and seal the rift before the creatures take hold!
Download the free Stranger Folk app to start your folklore magic adventure. To activate the app, solve the clue on arrival to find out the 'Magic Password', or ask the team if you are not sure.
Your guide, the mysterious Old Crone, will direct you through a series of silly and magical tasks to help find the Stranger Folk and decide their fate. The Autumn colours, mysterious Fernery, spooky Stainborough Castle and mist rising over the parkland will add to the atmosphere of this digital folklore adventure.
Save time and download the app before your visit via the Apple App store or Google Play store, or make use of the National Trust free wifi available in our Long Barn café. The game does not need a wifi connection to work once downloaded.
The game lasts between 30-60 minutes but can be paused at any time so why not take a moment to refuel with a cosy Autumnal treat in our café.
The app is designed to be a heads up experience interacting with the natural world around you and as such is audio based with a transcribed option. Make sure you have at least 50% charge on your phone to enjoy the full experience.
This app and ancient folklore world has been brought to life in partnership with the wonderful minds at Thought Den.
