Two girls with their wild art clay character

There's so much to see and do at Wicken Fen at half-term. Here's a few ideas to help you plan your day-out.

Events

We've got some great events planned for the kids during the school holidays -  from Wild Art to Geocaching.  Please book early as spaces are limited.

Wonderful wildlife

With over 9000 recorded species  you're bound to see some amazing wildlife. You can spy on wildlife from nine wildlife hides around the nature reserve.

Our new Baker's Hide overlooking the wet grasslands of Baker's Fen is a great place to spy on migrant wildfowl who spend the winter at Wicken Fen.

Don't be in a hurry to rush home - as dusk falls look out for hen harriers floating on the breeze looking for a safe place to roost on Sedge Fen.

Explore on two legs......

Enjoy a gentle family stroll around the all-weather boardwalk, explore our new Woodland Walk, complete with den building area, or head out for a longer walk on the Adventurers' Trail.

... or two wheels

Grab some wheels and explore the wider reserve, local villages, have an off-road blast, or cycle the Lodes Way down to Anglesey Abbey. Bring you own wheels or hire one of our bikes (please ask in the Visitor Centre if you would like to hire a bike).
