Our River Itchen duck race is back by popular demand for a second year. On Saturday 25 August, you can take part and help raise money for future projects at Winchester City Mill. There's lots for the whole family to enjoy and great prizes for the fastest finishers.

Over a thousand yellow ducks are available to sponsor in preparation for our August duck race. For £2 you can snap yours up, either from the Mill’s shop (no admission charge) or over the phone (01962 870057). 

Complete your 'Design-A-Duck' sponsorship certificate to take part in our 'Best Dressed' racing duck competition. Submit your design by 25 August and the winner will be announced, along with the fastest race finishers, on our duck race day

The Grand Duck Race

Saturday 25 August, 11am – 4pm, free entry

The fun starts at 11am. With cake and craft stalls, food and drink, fete games and chances to win prizes, there is plenty for all the family to enjoy and take away.

At 2pm, our yellow toy ducks will be released into the River Itchen. You can follow their exciting journey starting from our island garden and finishing at Wharf Mill. And with locally-donated prizes for the fastest finishers, there’s every reason to sponsor a duck.
