Open days at Town Walls Tower

A side on view of the top of the Town Walls Tower in Shrewsbury town

Take a rare opportunity to step behind the door that hundreds of local people walk past every day. Built in the fourteenth century to provide protection against Wales, delve into the history of the tower on one of our open days.

Next open days

Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 June, 11am to 3pm

Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 August, 11am to 3pm

Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October, 11am to 3pm

Last admission is at 2.40pm and due to its small size, entry is by tour only and places may be limited. There is a steep staircase to the top floor of the tower and no dedicated parking or toilet facilities.

Entry is free for National Trust members and under 5s. For non-members admission charges apply, adults £2 and children £1 (cash payments only, we are unable to take card payments).

Town Walls Tower is located in Shrewsbury town centre. It is near the Welsh Bridge, on the south of town wall. Find it with SY1 1TN.
