Open days at Town Walls Tower
Take a rare opportunity to step behind the door that hundreds of local people walk past every day. Built in the fourteenth century to provide protection against Wales, delve into the history of the tower on one of our open days.
Town Walls Tower is a small property, with narrow rooms and staircases. As such, this year entry will be by pre-booked timed ticket at intervals throughout each open day. Tickets are available to book on the What's on page of the website, or click here.
Due to its small size, entry is by tour only, limited to ten places on each one. There is a steep staircase to the top floor of the tower and no dedicated parking or toilet facilities at the Tower.
Booking your tour ticket
Entry is free for National Trust members (you will still need to book a free timed ticket for each person visiting, you will be asked if you are a member at the booking stage and will need to bring your membership card with you on your visit). For non-members admission charges apply, adults £2 and children £1, payment taken when you pre-book your tickets (there is a 5% booking fee).
If you are visiting with children under the age of 5 years old please bear in mind that due to the size and structure of the building, there is no space for pushchair storage, and there are no toilets on site. Space inside the tower is very limited and restricted, the stairs are narrow and steep between each floor and young children must be under very close supervision at all times. For more information about access and booking a place for an under 5 please email firstname.lastname@example.org 7 days before the open day.
