Harvest at Baddesley

Baddesley vegetable garden sweet corn

Celebrate bringing in the harvest with us here at Baddesley this autumn. Take a stroll around our new vegetable garden, enjoy a delicious harvest treat in the café and pick up a jam or two for a spot of baking at home.

In the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness you will find Baddesley's gardens a beautiful and tranquil place. Come and watch the leaves turn from luscious green to burnt orange, visit our new vegetable garden and pop into the restaurant to see what's new on the menu.

This harvest time come and take a stroll around our new vegetable plot which is now ready for you to explore. The previous vegetable garden was put in by the National Trust in 2004 however the land slopes and became unsafe due to waterlogging.

The new vegetable garden, already bursting with a kaleidoscope of colour, will be used to provide fresh flowers, fruit and vegetables to the house and restaurant.

We're currently using the last of the apples to make apple sauce to accompany our roast pork and in our warm sausage rolls. Our tomatoes are being made into spiced tomato chutney ready for Christmas and potatoes and leeks are making their way from the vegetable plot straight into our creamy potato and leek soup.
