Winter walks

Winter at the castle means fewer visitors and so there's the chance to enjoy the tranquillity of its setting. Visit on a clear, crisp morning when the winter sun shows up all the greens and greys of the stone walls.  In the afternoon as the light fades, the castle can look brooding but there is still an air of calm around the grounds.

Winter wildlife

Look for signs of winter wildlife in the castle grounds and discover some of the interesting features in the grand old trees and woodland. If you're lucky you may be greeted by one of the Bodiam Castle ducks or catch a glimpse of a fish in the moat.
