Dog walking at Bodiam Castle

Visitor walking their dog in the parkland

Planning a day out with the dog? Dogs on short leads are welcome in the grounds around Bodiam Castle and in the Castle-view café.

Where can we go?

Dogs are welcome on short leads in the grounds around the castle (but not inside the castle, the castle courtyard, shop or the main Wharf tea-room). Dogs and their friendly humans are also welcome inside Castle-view café (situated opposite the castle) where you can rest and refuel.

Follow our lead

We ask that dogs are kept on a short lead and under control, whilst you’re visiting Bodiam Castle. Some people are uncomfortable around even the friendliest of dogs and the estate is home to a wide range of wildlife including lots of ducks. This way everyone can enjoy their day out with us.

Please help Bodiam Castle remain a beautiful place by being responsible and clearing up after your dog. You’ll find a couple of bins located around the grounds for your use, or feel free to take any waste home with you and dispose of it there.
