Planning a day out with the dog? Dogs on short leads are welcome in the grounds around Bodiam Castle and in the Castle-view café.
Where can my dog go?
We welcome dogs here at Bodiam Castle (on short leads) and they are welcome in almost all outdoor areas.
Accompanied dogs are welcome inside Castle-view café (situated opposite the castle and open at weekends only) where you can rest and refuel.

Where can't my dog go?
Assistance dogs only in the Wharf tea-room, Castle-view cafe, castle, the castle courtyard and shop.
Should you wish to visit the tea-room, there's plenty of outside seating where you and your dog may sit and enjoy refreshments. Please leave your dog outside when ordering.
Many of our places are as mad about dogs as you are. Find out more about bringing your dog with you.
What do I need to be aware of at Bodiam Castle
To make sure everyone has an enjoyable day please follow our Canine Code:
Take the lead: help reduce the chance of your pup disturbing wildlife by keeping them on a short lead.
Scoop that poop: bag it and bin it to keep your favourite places beautiful.
Paws for thought: look out for information signs.
Be on the ball: not everyone loves dogs, so keep them close by.
Facilities for my dog
There are water bowls Bowls outside the Wharf tea-room and Castle-view cafe, as well as outside taps near the Wharf tea-room. There is also a tether outside Castle-view cafe.
Please remember to bring dog bags with you. You’ll find a couple of bins located around the grounds for your use, or feel free to take any waste home with you and dispose of it there.
Doggy treats and doggy ice-cream is available in the Wharf tea-room and the Castle shop stocks dog related supplies such as foodie treats, toys, travel bowls, leads, collars, tick combs and even poop bags.
Thank you for helping to keep the grounds clean for everyone to enjoy.
