Weddings at Bodiam Castle
Our 14th-century moated castle is the perfect setting for a memorable wedding ceremony, whether it is just a simple occasion for a few friends or a large gathering for your entire address book.
Getting married in the castle
With its imposing towers and walkway across the moat, Bodiam Castle is a fairy-tale castle and for those brides who’ve dreamed of a romantic castle wedding, we can make that dream come true with a civil ceremony here at Bodiam.
Ceremonies take place inside the castle, under the gatehouse tower. As a bride you'll feel special as you walk across the bridge towards the great oak door where your groom and guests will be waiting. After you've taken your vows, you and your own knight in shining armour can celebrate with your guests in the castle courtyard. Every ceremony is tailored to your own needs, drinks and canapes can be served whilst special photographs are taken for your album.
When can I get married?
As the castle is open daily, ceremonies normally take place between 8-10am and 6-8pm, therefore before the castle opens or after it closes to the public. Ceremonies at other times, during opening hours, are arranged in conjunction with our own events programme, please contact us for more information.
Outside of public hours, bride, groom and photographer can use the stunning backdrop of the castle for photographs, whilst guests are free to wander through the castle grounds, enjoying the peace and tranquillity and views across the Rother Valley.
