Easter at Box Hill 2017

Follow our spring butterfly trail or take part in our Easter bonnet parade and egg rolling competition this Easter weekend.

Free Spring Butterfly Trail

Pick up our free Spring butterfly trail from the shepherd's hut at Box Hill. There are two trails available, one suitable for ages 2-4 and one for ages 4-7. The trail, which leads young explorers round the Natural Play Trail can get muddy, so wellies are recommended. The trail is available from 10am until 2pm from 1 - 12 April inclusive.

Easter Egg Rolling

Get involved in the age-old Easter custom of egg rolling. Bring your own bespoke, beautifully hand-decorated, delightfully-adorned, hard-boiled egg and roll it down Box Hill until it is utterly destroyed. Hurrah! We’ll be judging on first to the finish and best decorated - time to get creative! 12 noon, 14 - 17 April inclusive. No charge.

If you haven't brought an egg along, head to our egg decorating station from 10am until 12 noon each day of the Easter weekend to create your own masterpiece. Suggested donation of £1 per egg.

Easter Bonnet Parade

Setting the fashion standard in Spring 2017 headwear! The Box Hill Easter bonnet parade is a great opportunity to show off your home-made bonnets and trend-set your way to sweet success. Decorate your beautiful barnet, don your bowlers, tip your tops, make handsome your hard hat, or go traditional with a beautiful Easter Bonnet. Prizes for originality, and for loveliness. 1.30pm, 14-17 April inclusive. No charge.
