Learning and education visits
The Shropshire Hills is a fantastic place for scientific and geographical study. Our expert learning team offer an exciting programme which can be tailored for different ages, abilities and curriculums. From river studies to rock formation, get your group into the great outdoors for hands-on learning and fun.
We are hoping to resume a limited amount of self-guided visits very soon. Please get in touch if you are interested. All schools visiting Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd must book their visit.
We offer a range of outdoor courses in the Shropshire Hills, suitable for schools, education groups and Duke of Edinburgh award groups. The learning programme is very popular and dates get booked quickly. So that we're able to provide you with a fantastic learning experience, we ask all groups to book all types of visits in advance by sending us a booking form.
Our knowledgeable learning team can offer guided visits tailored to most curriculum needs. We offer sessions including river study, habitat study, geology, farm visits and guided walks.
We always encourage our groups to take time to include a walk somewhere on their schedule to take advantage of our team's wealth of knowledge on the wildlife and history of the Long Mynd.
Self guided visits
Bring your education group along on a self guided visit. Please let us know you're coming by completing a booking form. Coach parking is available at Carding Mill Valley and groups are welcome to use the toilets, tea-room and gift shop.
Our learning team offer support for self guided visits with wealth of knowledge to call on. We can hire euqipment for river studies, map and compass work and other activities. There is often the possiblity to hire classroom or lunch space as well.
Self guided group visits do cost, unless your school has or takes out National Trust Educational Group Membership.
