Castle Drogo has lots of family fun this Easter holiday, from a trail around the garden to crafty castle capers.

Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt

From Friday 10-Monday 13 April, 10am-4pm children can follow the Animal architect trail around the garden to claim their Cadbury chocolate prize. (£2.50, per trail). Can you work out which animal built which home?

New beginnings trail

From Saturday 28 March - Thursday 9 April, 11am-4pm follow the trail around the garden finding out about new life emerging in nature, from insects to animals found on the estate.

Dog walking path

Bring your 4 legged friend along too for a walk around the garden. The path goes around the formal garden and into the rhododendron garden and orchard.

Crafty castle capers

On Tuesday 31 March and 7 April, 11am-4pm children can get their hands dirty in a variety of crafty activities (a small charge applies). On 31 March the activity is seed bombs (£1) and on the 7 April the activity is butterfly feeders (£1).

In the castle

In the castle children can follow the trail around the castle discovering the faces of Drogo past and present. 


The gorge comes alive in spring with the smell of gorse, wildflowers and birds singing. There are a variety of walks from a 1 mile walk around the top of the gorge to all day walks into Fingle Woods.
