Built in the 1760s, Castle Ward House and its estate combines history and unique architecture with breathtaking views of Strangford Lough.
We offer a selection of beautiful spots for your wedding ceremony to suit your special day, whether on the scenic shores of Strangford Lough, inside our 18th-century Mansion House, our rustic Theatre or within the multi-level Victorian Sunken Garden.
Please note that at the moment we are not currently accomodating wedding reception parties, and offer the spaces for hire for ceremonies only.
The Mansion House
Inside you can find our neo-classical 18th-century hall of assembly with richly decorated walls, a scaglioli colonnade and a Georgian ceiling which are all enhanced by a crystal chandelier. In here we can hold intimate ceremonies of up to 60 guests.
Theatre
This is a charming white-walled, rustic barn style space in the Stableyard, convenient for both the Sunken Garden and Mansion and with its own private courtyard. We can accommodate up to 150 guests for a ceremony.
The Sunken Garden
The Victorian Sunken Garden, on three levels and featuring an abundance of exotic flowers and seasonal plants, provides a stunning and tranquil location for your wedding ceremony of up to 140 guests. It is also a perfect location to host your drinks reception.
