Matronalia at the Villa

Mother and daughters enjoying the garden

It's Mother's Day weekend at Chedworth Roman Villa and we've got plenty planned to keep mothers (and everyone else in the family) entertained!

Mother's Day at Chedworth Roman Villa is something special, so join us as we celebrate Matronalia - the Roman festival of mothers!

You can join Gaia and her models at 11.30am and 2.30pm on Saturday and Sunday for Roman make up demonstrations, and may be even learn some ancient beauty tips.

If you'd like to make your mum a special gift, we've got craft activities running all weekend. You can make your own mosaic, present your mum with a handmade badge, or even a beautiful picture. Some crafts may come with an additional charge for materials.

Dr Quintus and Lady Octavia will be on site on Saturday and Sunday respectively, ready to talk to you all about Roman life, and we will have guided tours at set times over the weekend so feel free to ask at reception for more details.

We can't forget our wonderful shop and cafe - our staff will be on hand to help you pick some beautiful gifts, or treat your mum to a selection of cakes and other goodies.

We can't wait to celebrate Matronalia with you, so bring your mums for a wonderful family day out!
