Summer at Claremont Landscape Garden

Family playing ping-pong by the lake

With its grand old trees, sparkling water and half-hidden follies, it's easy to see why Claremont's listed landscape was renowned throughout Europe in the eighteenth century. We've put together a list of the season's highlights so you can make the most of the summer in this historic royal estate.

Lakeside strolls

Take an easy walk around Claremont's serpentine lake, now sparkling after recent conservation work to remove an invasive weed. Accessible (though slightly bumpy) for wheelchairs and pushchairs, it's perfect for a short, leisurely amble by the water. You might even spot a black swan or Egyptian goose.
