In 2018 we carried out essential conservation maintenance works to the ruins of the mansion and at Mussenden Temple, this included vegetation removal and repointing to ensure the ongoing stability of these important features at Downhill.
What we aimed to achieve?
Given the exposed setting of Downhill the stone work on our buildings required ongoing care and maintenance, this project aimed to enable the long term sustainability of these buildings to ensure continuing public access for future generations to enjoy.
Why are we doing it?
National Trust is a conservation charity who’s core purpose is to look after our special places, like, Downhill, For Ever For Everyone.

The cost of the project was around £60,000
