We are carrying out essential conservation maintenance works to the ruins of the mansion and at Mussenden Temple.
What is happening?
We are carrying out essential conservation maintenance works to the ruins of the mansion and at Mussenden Temple, this will include vegetation removal and repointing to ensure the ongoing stability of these important features at Downhill.
What do we aim to achieve?
Given the exposed setting of Downhill the stone work on our buildings requires ongoing care and maintenance, this project aims to enable the long term sustainability of these buildings to ensure continuing public access for future generations to enjoy.
Why are we doing it?
National Trust is a conservation charity who’s core purpose is to look after our special places, like, Downhill, For Ever For Everyone.

The cost of the project is £60,000
