Volunteer at Dyffryn Gardens
Would you like to learn new skills, meet new people and help us to look after Dyffryn?
Thinking about volunteering?
Volunteers are the life blood of Dyffryn, without them we would not be able to keep the gardens so well maintained, open the house to visitors or to help our less mobile visitors to enjoy the gardens. We'd love you to consider spending some of your free time with us so that we can continue to care for the house and gardens and to provide a great day out.
" I love volunteering in the garden, seeing it bloom in all its glory after all our pruning and planting gives me an immense sense of satisfaction"
What opportunities are there?
We have lots of different roles available at Dyffryn as well as frequent taster days where you can have a go-no obligation. Here is just a small selection of the opportunities open to you.
- Room host
- Garden tour guide
- Buggy driver
- Archive volunteer
- Family activity volunteer
- Visitor welcome volunteer
- Cafe volunteer
Garden tour guides
The garden tour guides run 45 minute tours on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at midday. As a garden guide you will welcome our visitors and show them around the most spectacular parts of the garden answering questions and giving some historical background.
You do not need to have extensive plant knowledge but some is helpful.
Dyffryn house needs you
We already have a fabulous and dedicated group of house volunteers but we still need a few more people to help fill our books.
You'll be opening and closing the house each morning and afternoon, greeting our visitors and answering their questions about the history of the house and gardens. You'll need to be confident in speaking to the public and be very warm and friendly.
What's in it for you?
You have the opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills and help us look after this special place. You can join in with our staff and volunteer socials and enjoy spending time in our gorgeous surroundings. Email us for more information on any of our roles.
