Cycling our trails

Take a trip to the lough, or through sheltered woodland and deer parks as you follow the network of cycle paths around our estate.

Castle Ward has 32km of trails to explore and one of the best ways to see this is on the back of a bike. Four of our five trails are suitable for cyclists - check out the trails map below:

You can bring along your bike or hire one from Clearsky Adventure in the farmyard. After cycling our bike wash is available for you to use near the Farmyard / Trailhead area.

Bike Hire

If you would like to explore our trails on a bike, but haven't been able to bring your own, you can hire one from Clearsky Adventure Centre, located in our farmyard. This can be arranged via their website or by calling 028 4372 3933.

Cyclists on the trails

  • The trails are multi-use, meaning other people, horses, children and dogs could be around the next bend. There are "Slow Zones" on each trail where crossings are likely, please ensure you are aware of these zones by checking the trail map
     
  • Extra care must be taken on the Shore Trail which is all a Slow Zone. The area will have families exploring the Secret Shore Nature Trail 
     
  • When passing other users, keep to the left if possible
     
  • Cyclists follow in one direction with horse riders travelling the opposite direction. Ensure you follow this guidance
     
  • Some of the trails may be closed for livestock grazing, please follow the diversion signage in place
