We’re delighted to welcome campers back to Low Wray Campsite. We’d like to say things are business as usual but as we reopen, we don't have all of our usual services and activities available. Please read this page carefully as it may mean you need to bring a few extra things with you.

On arrival
You'll find the arrivals car park just before the barrier on the left as you enter the site. Please park up here and report to reception before pitching your tent.

Reception hours will be reduced so we’ve introduced a self check-in procedure which means you will find an envelope with your name on the clearly-marked arrivals board. Inside your envelope you’ll find all the information you need to get settled in and start your holiday, including a map showing you where to pitch.

Staff will be still be on site for any queries you may have. To maintain social distancing, please ensure that you pitch in the right spot.

Shop and takeaway food
The shop opens daily at 8.30-10.30am with a slightly reduced range of food items for sale with contactless payment where possible. We're now serving freshly baked baguettes, croissants and pains au chocolat for the remainder of the season and from Friday 28 August, we're selling local beer and cider.

We can freeze your own ice-blocks - this is 'self-service' so please ensure to use the hand sanitiser located next to the freezer which is located outside reception. Please place your ice-blocks in carrier bags with your name written on. The freezer is accessible at all times.

Childrens play area
Although the government guidance now allows outdoor play areas to reopen, we’re waiting for further guidance on how to do this safely and compliantly.

Toilet/shower blocks and extra facilities
We have three shower and toilet blocks dotted around the campsite to service the different camping areas. To ensure social distancing, we’ve partitioned off areas inside each block. Use of the showers is included in your pitch fee. Disabled toilet and shower facilities are available in the toilet block situated in the 'Vic's Meadow' area of the campsite.

Washing-up areas
To help keep your pots and pans sparkling, we have pot washing facilities available at each of the three shower blocks.

Laundry & drying facilities
You’ll be glad to know you can do your laundry on site. Washing and drying room facilities are situated at the rear of the toilet block in the 'Woodlands' area of the campsite. A second drying room is located at the rear of the 'Whitworths/Woodhouse Meadow' toilet block.

Our washing and drying machines accept £1 coins (£3 wash, £2 dry). We advise bringing coins with you as currently, we are unable to handle cash, as well as washing powder (preferably the eco-friendly kind).

Chemical waste facilities
Our chemical waste facility for campervans is located opposite Woodhouse Meadow/Whitworths toilet block.

Canoe and cycle hire and guided outdoor activities
Unfortunately these will not be available at Low Wray this season.

Lakeshore access
The campsite has direct access to the lakeshore where you can launch non-powered craft, explore the lakeside beach and go for a paddle or a dip.

There’ll be new notices in place in communal areas and we ask campers to kindly observe these to allow everyone on site to have a relaxing holiday. We’d like to gently remind campers that for the safety of guests and staff, to observe a 2m distance rule at all times where possible.
