Join our team of dedicated and passionate volunteers based at Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd. We've got a variety of roles available, from sharing your love and enthusiasm for the outdoors with the learning team to working with the ranger team on the conservation work or even working in the shop providing a great experience for our visitors.
Volunteering with the National Trust brings many rewards, not least of which is a brilliant team to be part of in Carding Mill Valley. Our volunteer opportunies often change but below are our available roles at the present time.
Experience of any of the roles isn't usually necessary and training is provided. So don't worry about your suitablity. We'd love to hear from you and we should be able to find a place for you on our team.
Learning Assistant - Shropshire Hills
The learning team inspire the next generation of enthusiasts. They aren’t afraid to get muddy or let their passion for nature shine through. They have many exciting adventures at Carding Mill Valley including river studies, geology, guided walks and field lab work.
Everyone likes a bit of retail therapy, don’t they? Retail Assistants offer this vital service for all visitors to the Shropshire Hills. They love helping people find just the thing they’re looking for, and helping us achieve our sales targets, so everyone’s happy!
Weekend Duty Ranger
Working alongside the Duty Manager you will play an essential part in ensuring the smooth running of the Long Mynd on weekends and Bank Holidays. If you’re confident, love the outdoors and are a great people person, this could be just the role for you.
