Volunteer at Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd
Join our team of dedicated and passionate volunteers based at Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd. We've got a variety of roles available, from sharing your love and enthusiasm for the outdoors with the learning and engagement team to working with the ranger team on the conservation work or even working in the tea-room providing a great experience for our visitors.
Volunteering with the National Trust brings many rewards, not least of which is a brilliant team to be part of in Carding Mill Valley. Our volunteer opportunies often change but below are our available roles at the present time.
Experience of any of the roles isn't usually necessary and training is provided. So don't worry about your suitablity. We'd love to hear from you and we should be able to find a place for you on our team.
Learning Assistant - Shropshire Hills
The learning team inspire the next generation of enthusiasts. They aren’t afraid to get muddy or let their passion for nature shine through. They have many exciting adventures at Carding Mill Valley including river studies, geology, guided walks and field lab work.
A new role based at Carding Mill Valley. The engagement volunteers help to design and deliver our holiday events and activities. You'll find them out in the stream or pond dipping for creatures or walking the hills in search of new adventures. If you enjoy sharing your love of the nature, the outdoors and the Long Mynd with others this could be the role for you.
Weekend Duty Ranger
Working alongside the Duty Manager you will play an essential part in ensuring the smooth running of the Long Mynd on weekends and Bank Holidays. If you’re confident, love the outdoors and are a great people person, this could be just the role for you.
