The winter has been full of fresh snowy adventure but now it's time for Spring! As new life starts to emerge come along to Fountains Abbey for a day full of family fun.
It’s a wild stitch up in Swanley
While today needlecraft and embroidery is done as a hobby, in medieval times it was necessary to use stitch to make your own clothes. Come and learn basic stitches which would have been used, from running stitch to chain stitch.
Use your map to help Brother Thomas discover all of his escaped willow farm animals this Easter. They’re hiding in corners of the abbey and need to be rounded up. There'll be a delicious Cadbury chocolate treat if you can help him find them all.
Bring your hard boiled eggs for an egg rolling competition on the abbey green. How far will yours go?
Become a monk on this trail and find out all about the medieval grange animals to see if you’d survive life at the abbey.
