Volunteering for the Skell Valley Project
The Skell Valley is an area rich in nature, beauty and history. Throughout the length of the project there will be opportunities for people of all backgrounds, abilities, and interests to get involved and join in with the Skell community. Whether you want to get muddy in the outdoors, discover new areas in nature or are happier delving though historical documents with a nice cup of tea – the Skell Valley Project needs your help!

Digging Deep in the Archives volunteers
The Skell Valley is a landscape with a long and diverse heritage. Issues of flooding and land management have been part of the lives of people living in this landscape for generations.
Working in partnership with the West Yorkshire Archive Service (WYAS) the Digging Deep in the Archives project will involve local community members, special interest groups and students in an archive research and oral history project focussed on the history of the heritage and landscape of the Skell Valley. There are two roles available, Remote Indexing volunteer and Remote Transcription volunteer.
