About Little Thorington
Situated in a large hamlet within the Dedham Vale in Suffolk, Little Thorington, part of Thorington Hall, is difficult to miss with its striking exterior and historic detailing.Stay in part of one of Suffolk's oldest houses, packed with history and bags of charm from the uneven and characterful staircase to the impressive dining room with a wood burning stove.
Inside, the large bright rooms are informally furnished and conceal moden facilities, yet retain their former grandeur. It is part of Thorington Hall, so whilst only having a maximum of 6 guests staying, you will have the luxury of the large dining room, kitchen, sitting room with a wood burning stove and snug that Thorington Hall offers (catering for up to 18 guests). The cottage is set within a gated entrance with a large rambling garden, a small apple orchard, stables and a multi-use play area/ tennis court.
Little Thorington is a perfect escape to explore the Constable Countryside and beyond. It is a 15 minute drive to Flatford, the inspiration to some of John Constable's most famous pictures. For those feeling slightly more energetic, explore the 4-7 mile Flatford and Country walking trail through the Stour Valley and Dedham Vale. After a day out and about, Little Thorington is the perfect place to put your feet up, enjoy the warmth of the wood burner and the company of family or friends.

Notes for guests
Access: Due to the age of the property floors are uneven, there are varying levels and steps throughout. Staircases have narrow irregular treads and wider than standard balustrades so care must be taken. Attic rooms have sloping ceilings with restricted head heights and sloping floors.
The East staircase bannister rails are at wider spacing than new regulations - children should be supervised. The twin rooms on the second floor are not recommended for younger children due to the uneven stairs.
This cottage only includes part of the main building. Access to the main living areas is included. One wing of bedrooms will be locked off.
Thorington Hall and Lodge: Little Thorington is part of Thorington Hall. You will have access to majority of the house. You will not have access to the west staircase and side of the house. The cottage is also attached to Thorington Lodge which sleeps 3.
Logs/Charcoal/Barbecue: A charcoal barbecue is provided for you to use. Fuel for the wood burners is provided free of charge.
