Garden Gate Apartment is a light, bright spot above the visitor café in a modern building on the edge of Crook Hall Gardens in Durham, an historically important and locally cherished place. From the apartment’s balcony, you’ll have a view across the maze and beautiful gardens, yours to explore after visitors go home for the day.

Stairs lead up from a private entrance to the rooms on the first floor. There’s an open-plan kitchen, sitting and dining room, with a high pitched ceiling and glass doors leading onto the balcony seating area. There are two bedrooms, one king and one twin (which can be a superking on request), a family bathroom and utility room with an additional WC.

The apartment is just a 10-minute walk from Durham train station, and a 10-minute walk will also take you to the city centre.

Crook Hall is a Grade I listed house with medieval hall recently taken into the care of the National Trust, providing a spectacular backdrop to Crook Hall Gardens. The gardens are open to the public, the house at Crook Hall is not.
