Stay right in the heart of Cotehele itself at Retainer's Court, a charming 15th-century two-storey building. Re-used as a dairy or still room for the main house in the 18th century, the property has been tastefully converted into a comfortable holiday cottage.
Look out of the cottage’s mullioned windows to a cobbled court leading to Cotehele's ancient chapel. Step outside and head in the other direction to the orchard, filled with daffodils in the spring. You’ll have free, out of hour’s access to the gardens and wider estate of Cotehele, where you’ll be able to explore its network of walking trails.
Explore the wider area in style and board a train on the Tamar Valley Line. Travelling from Plymouth to Gunnislake, enjoy amazing views of the winding river below you.
