Volunteer at Kinver Edge

A volunteer makes traditional rag rugs outside the Rock Houses

From lighting fires to selling scones, and sharing stories with visitors young and old, our volunteers bring the Rock Houses to life and look after the countryside of Kinver Edge.

Whatever your skills and interests, we are always ready to welcome new volunteers, and can offer you a chance to learn something new, make friends, and contribute to this special place. Here are just a few of the roles available :

Countryside conservation

We are restoring rare heathland habitat on Kinver Edge to provide a home for species such as adders and common lizards. Join our weekly volunteer groups to clear the encroaching scrub, monitor wildlife, improve paths and much more.

Room guides

Volunteers bring the Rock Houses to life. You will teach visitors about the history of these quirky homes, and show them around the restored rooms. If you enjoy working with people, and can offer a warm welcome, then please get in touch.

Learning and events

Fancy making rugs the traditional way? Are you brilliant at bug-hunting? There's nothing like a great day out, and we need Events Assistants to make them happen. With plenty of school visits, there's opportunities to work with young people too.
