Christmas in and around West Sussex

All across Sussex we are bringing festive traditions to life at our country houses, atmospheric gardens and wintery countryside.

New for 2018 is a festive exhibition at Nymans of illustrations from The Snowman™ and The Snowdog.

For a traditional Christmas come to Standen, dressed head to toe in decorations, with a special tree in the courtyard by contemporary embroiderer Mr X Stitch. Plus bookings are open now for the Woodland Santa at Standen.

The grand house at Petworth welcomes you to a Georgian Christmas party, with boughs of festive greenery in the showrooms and scenes in the kitchens.

Come to Sheffield Park and Garden for walks in the winter landscape, where you'll come across a trail of silhouettes and decorated trees.

From Saturday 17 November until Wednesday 2 January 2019 we'll be displaying over 40 illustrations from the magical adventures of The Snowman™ and The Snowdog. With behind-the-scenes drawings, preparatory sketches and artwork used in the film.

This winter, ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ come to Uppark. You’ll find beautifully dressed rooms inspired by this classic song, Paper artist Delicarta returns with more amazing creations, alongside gorgeous handmade decorations. Outside, there’s a new activity trail, and on 16 December Alder Valley Brass Band present favourite Christmas carols. 1 Dec - 1 Jan, 11am - 3.30pm, (grounds open 10am), trail £2.
