From 'Wild Wednesdays' to our brand new children's trail, you'll find plenty of fun, family activities to keep everyone entertained during the summer holidays at Lyveden.
'Bill Badger and Pirates' Children's Trail
For those in seach of adventure, try our new children's trail and explore the woods, meadows and moats at Lyveden. Inspired by the characters and stories of local Northamptonshire author 'BB', this year we join Bill Badger and Izzybizzy the hedgehog as they set out on another adventure in their narrow boat, encountering pirates and mischief along the way.
The trail runs from 11am to 4pm every day from 13th July to the 3rd September. Trail leaflets cost £1.00.
Every Wednesday, from the 17th July to the 4th September.
With something new to try each week, our 'Wild Wednesdays' are the perfect way to investigate Lyveden's wilder inhabitants.From discovering what lives in the murky water of the moat to making your very own bug house, you can try your hand at lots of different activities.
17th July - Hunt for bugs in Lyveden's wildflowers
24th July - FInd out what's living in the moat with pond dipping
31st July - We're joined by the Butterfly Conservation Society to take part in the Big Butterfly Count
7th August - Try to spot Lyveden's dragonflies with the British Dragonfly Society
14th August - Nature Art: Paint Brushes & Graffiti Team (Grafitti PM only)
21st August - Make your own Bug Hotel & Hunt for bugs
28th August - Which birds can you see at Lyveden? Make your own birdfeeder for home.
4th September - Nature Art: Seed Bombs & Hapa Zome
50 things to do before you're 11 3/4
Why not see how many 50 things challenges you can tick off? Grab a 50 things booklet from the Visitor Centre and see how many challenges you can complete. Grab a pair of binoculars from our Family Den and see if you can catch a glimpse of the elusive Red Kite. Go foraging in the woodland and create a wild art masterpiece out of twigs and leaves! Get to know a tree in the orchard. There's lots of fun to be found outdoors.
During the summer, Lyveden becomes the backdrop for a selection of outdoor theatre productions.
Join the Handlebards on Tuesday 9th July as they bring Shakespeare to the atmospheric setting of Lyveden’s garden lodge for a bicycle-powered production like none other. Expect riotous amounts of energy, a fair old whack of chaos, and a great deal of laughter as they perform Much Ado About Nothing. There’s plotting, frivolity and cross-dressing a plenty.

On Friday 2nd August the critically-acclaimed Pantaloons Theatre Company will be at Lyveden with a funny, fast-paced and faithful new adaptation of Jane Austen's classic Sense and Sensibility. Featuring live music, scandals, scoundrels and severely sprained ankles.
