Melford Hall Art Fair

Artist demonstrating at Melford Hall Art Fair

The Art Fair at Melford Hall has become an annual event and is an opportunity to view and purchase work from a wide range of East Anglian artists. The art is presented throughout this historic property, with major displays in the Park room and Boudoir.

A feature of this exhibition is in the Boudoir where the artists show some small pieces which enables all art lovers the opportunity to take something special home, whatever the size of their pockets.
Some of the artists featured are:
Sue Eaton who paints in a variety of mediums and has previously exhibited her very striking treescapes. Her paintings are growing in popularity and her ‘Godwits galore’ has been accepted by the Society of Women Artists for their annual Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London this August. This is the third year running that her work has been accepted.
Chris Lockwood has a love of watercolour painting and draws inspiration from the landscape of the nature reserve around his Fen Drayton home as well as the vibrant colours of the flowers in his garden.
Jan Couling has spent her life in East Anglia. The local landscape and historic buildings around her home on the Suffolk/Essex border inspire the works she produces in watercolour, pastels or acrylic. She delights in bringing out the character of her animal subjects.
Andy English is a professional wood engraver producing illustrations, exhibition prints and book prints. His work has been exhibited across the world and he was a guest artist demonstrating wood engraving in Chicago.
Reg Siger is a self-taught artist who specialises in depicting old cottages, farmhouses, village and town scenes. Reg’s work concentrates on the historical aspect of the subjects reflecting his fascination for old architecture.
Artists will be in residence on the following dates:
June 10 Reg Siger, June 14 Sue Eaton, June 21 Jan Couling, June 22 Chris Lockwood, June 28 Sue Eaton, June 29 Carol Goodchild.
