Closure of Montacute House in January 2020

Montacute House is welcoming a film crew for a little while in January 2020.

What is happening?

Hosting film crews offer an exciting opportunity as the fees earned from filming go straight back into looking after Montacute. It does come with challenges though, as the conservation needs of Montacute House must be managed alongside access and safety considerations.

It means Montacute House will be closed in its entirety from 13 to 28 January. Everything will be back to normal on Wednesday 29 January.

We are really sorry if this causes any inconvenience. At weekends the nearest open National Trust properties are Barrington Court and Lytes Cary Manor. During the week, the nearest place to visit is Stourhead, approximately half an hour away.
