About the exhibition
Jigsaw4u is a group show displaying artwork from a number of children. This is a fun and positive exhibition that allows children to be creative, explore and have fun. The group were inspired by the spirit of Morden Hall Park in the summer time and their works show a range of different styles using found objects and art materials.
The exhibition allows children to dream, get inspired and imagine a summer in Morden Hall Park
About the group
Jigsaw4u is a Merton-based charity supporting children, young people and families experiencing complex social and emotional difficulties. Jigsaw4u were established in 1997 and hold an annual art exhibition at Morden Hall Park to celebrate the art therapy work completed by children accessing their services. .
We welcome Jigsaw4u to Morden Hall Park because of their positive work in supporting young people and families and feel that there is a strong connection between the group and the park.
Mr Gilliat Hatfeild, the last owner of Morden Hall Park, was a great philanthropist allowing the hall to become a hospital in WW1 and after WW2, an Annexe of the London Hospital for Women and children. Staff reported memories of Hatfeild visiting every afternoon, to take sick children out into the park for picnics and to pull them around the estate in a cart he had a carpenter make for them.
The children have created pieces of artwork around the theme of ‘Morden Hall Park in the summertime’.
