Guided History Tours

Tour guide leading a group through the Park.

Every Sunday between the beginning of April and the end of November at 11.30am and 1.00pm, join us for a free guided history tour of Morden Hall Park. With our experienced tour guides leading the way, you’re sure to learn something new.

Have you ever wanted to know more about our park?  Maybe you’re interested in the Hatfeild family -- the last owners of the estate before it was left to the National Trust.  Or perhaps you’d rather hear about the film star parties that were a regular fixture in the 1940’s. Maybe you remember Morden Hall as a Beefeaster restaurant and want to know about its history beforehand. Whatever your interest, you'll find our helpful tour guides more than happy to oblige.

What to expect

Our guided tours are an easy walk, and take about an hour. You'll go all around the park, taking a look at the Wandle river, once the most industrialised river in the UK for its size, and learn about the snuff milling that happened there.  Your tour guide will point out the many historic buildings onsite and although you won't be able to go in them we have loads of pictures which will give you a real feel for their historic interiors (many of which have been renovated).
If you’d like to come along, our walks start at 11:30am and 1:00pm every Sunday.  There’s no need to book, just join us in front of the Garden Centre and Potting Shed Café, and they are all absolutely free to attend.
