Alan Titchmarsh visits Mount Stewart on the shores of Strangford Lough in the second series of Secrets of the National Trust which airs on Wednesday 11 July at 9pm on Channel Five

A second series of Channel 5’s ‘Secrets of the National Trust with Alan Titchmarsh’ is currently airing on Channel 5 and County Down will take centre stage on Wednesday 11 July at 9pm when Alan visits Mount Stewart.

The series follows Alan as he embarks on the second half of his 12-part journey across the Trust and visits a new property each week to unlock its secrets. Along the way he is joined by some familiar faces, who uncover tales of high society, life below stairs and the trials, triumphs and scandals of our great estates all across the country.

While visiting Mount Stewart Alan learns about the life and legacy of Edith, Marchioness of Londonderry, who transformed both the gardens at her home Mount Stewart, and the political landscape for women in the early twentieth century.
