Summer family fun at Nostell
Whether you've mini makers ready to get creative or outdoor adventurers looking to explore (or a little bit of both!), we've lots to fill your holidays at Nostell.
Come and play at Nostell these summer holidays! With something new to try every weekday, 11am – 3pm, there’s plenty to get stuck into this holiday.
Activities run from Monday 23 July to Friday 31 August and are in daily themes. Check out all the fun you can get up to every day of the week during school holidays.
Messy Play Mondays
Monday is definitely bath night! These days are all about muck, mud and mess so old clothes are a good idea. We’ve mud art and water play to get stuck into and don’t miss the mud café where we’ll be making smelly cocktails!
Have you ever built a bug hotel or a hedgehog shelter? Help look after the wildlife on your doorstep. Come along to learn how to encourage more bees, bugs, frogs and hedgehogs to start calling your garden home. Develop your bush craft skills and have fun building a shelter, or get messy doing some leaf art.
Bring your bike to have a go at some cycle skills and join a guided ride with Wakefield District Cycle Forum – they’ve got some to borrow too. Learn top tips for maintaining your bike and don’t miss those bike-only woodland trails! Don’t forget to pick up your summer of sports challenge card at reception and get each activity stamped through the holidays.
Crafty Thursdays and Fridays - Dovetail, Biscuit, Splat
From designing the highest quality furniture, to sourcing the latest fashions in wallpaper, textiles and fittings, Thoms Chippendale created a world of interiors for Nostell. Roll up your sleeves and try out different materials, tools and techniques to discover the designer within you.
This summer we are having fun with marbling paper and using it in a variety of creative pursuits.
Top tip for tots!
Got littlies that need a break from the big kids? Don't miss Nostell Nestlings especially for under 5s on Wednesdays 1 and 15 August, 10.30 - 11.30am.
