Come out and play at Osterley
This article is about 2018. Visit our homepage for information on upcoming events.
Every week of the summer holidays you can get involved in Craft Cart, Family Gardening Club, Adam's Apprentices and our summer of sport activities - why not try all four?
Have you ever wondered what it took to be a Georgian designer? Become an apprentice to Robert Adam in our family trail and discover the classical columns and mythical monsters that give his designs their distinctive appearance. Find and sketch the patterns and flowers in Adam's designs, all in your notebook. When you've completed your apprenticeship, put into practice all you have learned in your own designs and take your own official architect's portrait.
Summer of Sport
Try your hand at something new and see how many sports you can take part in - pick up a programme from the garden kiosk.
With a varied programme over the holidays including archery, table tennis and volleyball to canoeing, mixed sports, football and badminton there is a sport for everyone to enjoy.
New this year, we will also be running a fantastic new game called Spikeball. You may not of heard of it so do come to Osterley to find out more.
Thurs 26 July - Sunday 3 September, various times
Additional charges may apply
Some sessions are drop-in and some are pre-booked, so visit our What’s On page to find out more.
Family Gardening Club
Bring your green fingers to the Little Veg Garden and get your hands dirty with digging, planting, weeding and watering with our garden volunteers.
Courgette sharks? Kale camouflage? Pea frame competitions? Whack a weed? These all happen at our Family Gardening Club on Fridays in the Summer Holidays. Our 13 raised beds are full of all sorts of fruits and vegetables and we need lots of helping hands to maintain and harvest them. You can also discover the compost heaps and wormery, and even try some of the produce grown in the garden.
Bring your family along to get up close and personal with nature, and get some inspiration to try at home. Our dedicated team of volunteers will guide parents and children through the activities, so bring the whole family and get stuck in.
Every Friday from 11am-3pm
27 July - 2 September
Normal admission applies
Join us in the Stables Walled Garden every Thursday and find out what we’re making. With a different theme each week you can become a Craft Cart regular. Our volunteer team will show you the activities for the week and give you everything you need to get creative. Each week we have a range of activities to suit all abilities, so the entire family join in.
