Walks at Pentire headland

Here are some suggested walks that will help you explore Pentire headland near Polzeath. They vary in length, are mostly circular and begin from either the main car park at Pentireglaze (where there are toilets and a café) or Lundy Bay. Cattle and sheep can graze at Pentire headland throughout the year. When you’re out walking please look out for signs with up to date information about grazing animals that might be on the footpath ahead.

Enjoy a walk that takes in the spectacular Pentire Point and the Rumps. The circular route starts at the main car park at Pentireglaze where there are toilets and a café (check for opening).

Pentire and Baby Bay walk 

A circular walk from the car park at Pentireglaze taking you through the ancient farmstead at the tip of the headland and along the South West Coast Path to the beach at Pentireglaze Haven (known as Baby Bay).

Lundy Bay and Pentire walk 

A circular walk at Pentire headland with an abundance of wildflowers and birds to spot, as well as cliff top views of the Rumps to enjoy. The route takes in the new café and toilet facilities at Pentireglaze, perfect for grabbing refreshment along the way.

Lundy Bay and Port Quin walk 

This circular, mostly coastal walk near Pentire headland takes in Lundy Bay and the coastal hamlet of Port Quin.

Just a mile or so before you reach New Polzeath, there's a sheltered valley where light woodland and scrub lead to a gem of a rocky bay, with sandy coves at low tide.
