Family fun at Saltram

This year might not be the one you planned, you might be staying closer to home or enjoying a staycation, but we have loads of lovely things to do together.

Autumn's arriving

Golden crunchy leaves, blushing blackberries and shiny conkers are awaiting welly walks this autumn. If you’re looking for a slightly quieter stroll try the Boundary or Pillars walk then warm up with a warming takeaway drink or apple-themed treat from the café or trailer.

While the nicer weather lasts, there's plenty of space to set up the perfect picnic on the lawn in the garden. Or pause your bike ride or walk in the park to perch on a bench and enjoy your goodies. Please just remember to always take your rubbish home with you.

Pick up a trail

Pick up a free colours of the rainbow trail in the Welcome Centre to search high and low in the garden for a rainbow of colours. The colours could be in the flowers or up in the trees, you'll have to see how many you can find. If you can remember bring a pen or pencil with you as unfortunately we are unable to hand those out at the moment.

If you're not planning on coming into the garden and are taking a walk or cycle around the park why not download the 'Mini adventurer' guide and prepare yourself for some wild exploration on the wider estate.

Go on a bike ride or have a go on the 'pump track'

Bring your bike and cycle through rolling parkland, along the Plym estuary, past ancient oaks and summer flower meadows. Try the pump track - designed for children to build confidence and learn new skills on two wheels. This cycle trail is perfect for families, young children, and those new to cycling, the terrain is largely flat with one steep hill.
