A summer to treasure

There’s loads of fun to be had and treasured memories to make at Saltram this summer.

Join us to explore Saltram's treasures in the parkland, garden and house.

We're welcoming you back to Saltram with a summer to treasure. It's a chance to celebrate all the things that make Saltram a really special place that we all love, so we can’t wait to hear all about your adventures.

From 26th July, pick up a trail sheet from the Welcome Centre for £1 and get started! There’s lots of ideas in the park, garden and house to tick as you go along and you can have a go at as many as you like. Each time you visit Saltram, ask for your trail sheet to be stamped and once you reach three stamps, you can have one of our patches to treasure forever.

Improve your cycling skills on the pump track, picnic on the lawn, discover the wild fernery and spot the trick card table in the house - there's so much to do at Saltram all summer long. You could even pop to Plymbridge to try out even more activities in the great outdoors.

The Saltram Treasured Trail takes place in the estate, garden and house, so normal admission charges apply (see our homepage for details), members and under 5s go free.

Get active outdoors... and even go barefoot!

Supported by Sport England, we're on for an active summer in the garden from 19th July. Grab a Get, Set, Go card from the Welcome Centre to help inspire you and head to the Serpentine Lawn to go wild. Time yourself on the mini-race track, try bunny hopping, or challenge your family to a game of giant jenga. Normal garden admission applies.

Alternatively, pick up a card and head out into the parkland or even your own garden to try the activities out - most can be done anywhere!

A note for families

We can't wait to welcome you but due to coronavirus things might feel and look a little different this summer still, with one-way systems and mask wearing in indoor spaces, in line with government restrictions at the time. Bear with us as there's still plenty to do and memories to be made with family and friends this summer.

Useful info

Saltram's Treasured Trail and Get Set Go activities can be completed in the parkland without the admission charge. We would love to welcome you into the garden, and members and under 5s go free. If you'd like to join the National Trust, just ask a member of our friendly welcome team.

Please note that the house is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

You no longer need to book to visit Saltram.

If you're looking for a quieter time to visit, we recommend visiting in the afternoon if you can.

Saltram's cafe and trailer are open 7 days a week 10-5 for light lunches, snacks and ice cream.

Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted in the garden.

Saltram's garden is an historic space which is cared for by a team of gardeners including volunteers. Help us to keep it beautiful by not bringing footballs and staying out of the flower beds. The lawns are free to roam and explore though, and the Serpentine Lawn has lots of play things for the whole family to enjoy. Thank you.
