A calm place to pause

Bench at Shugborough that looks onto the Mansion

As we all lead busy lives, why not take the chance to take a break at Shugborough.

We are located less than 10 miles from the M6, and less than 15 miles from the M6 Toll, meaning we are the perfect location in Staffordshire to pause to take that well-earned breath.

By the river.
There are many places to enjoy the soothing sounds of the River Sow. Head round to the back of the Mansion and sit on the steps looking over the river, or you can try and find our benches that are sheltered by our oak and lime trees. Can you find the boat house that is nestled behind the blue bridge? It’s the perfect spot to sit with a book and enjoy the last of the summer sun.

Arboretum.
Pretend you are a celebrity friend of Sir Patrick Lichfield and enjoy the bench by the old Tennis Courts. The roses that frame the bench are David Austin roses named ‘Lichfield Roses’.

If you head over the river you can sit in the best spot to look out onto the Mansion. Make sure you walk through all the pathways that have been mown by our gardening team. They give you the chance to see things you have never noticed before.
