Transforming the Castle Cottages

The castle cottages

As part of our ongoing commitment to preserve and protect the properties we care for, the Castle Cottages at Tattershall Castle are due to undergo some much needed conservation works this autumn.

The properties will be scaffolded for some essential external maintenance works to ensure that our gutters, drainpipes, windows and doors are repaired, decorated and left in full working order to make this beautiful Grade II listed building look its best.

The sizable external porches were added to the properties in the mid twentieth century and obscure much of the cottages beautiful frontage.

We're making sure that every part of the cottages are restored, including the drains

We have made the decision to apply for Listed Building Consent to remove these porches and restore the property to its former pre-war glory and enable our visitors to enjoy the historic vernacular architecture of the cottage entrances from the Castle grounds once more.

We look forward to unveiling the final works later in November.
