Walking the dog

A family enjoying their winter walks in the grounds at Trelissick, Cornwall

The countryside is dog-friendly with parkland, woodland and shoreline to explore. Please keep dogs on leads during your visit as this provides a safer environment for other visitors and dog owners as well as taking care of any ground nesting wildlife.

Where can I take my dog?

Access to the house and garden is limited to assistance dogs only which is why we cater for dogs and their owners in other areas. Trelissick's estate outside the garden has miles of woodland walks and open countryside for you and your dog to enjoy. From a half-hour stroll across the parkland to a trek down through the trees to Roundwood Quay, we've got plenty of space to play here.

After all that exertion why not pop into the cafe and enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake? Our outside courtyard area is dog-friendly with water bowls and outdoor seating arranged to ensure a safe distance between tables.
