Have an adventure at Upton this half term

Child playing on tree trunks

We are open everyday from 10 February 2018, so come along and join us for some well earned fun.

Explore the garden and grounds

When Lord and Lady Bearsted bought Upton House in 1927 their three sons enjoyed exploring the new grounds at Upton. Inspired by Tony the youngest son, who was 9 years old, we are developing a range of fun activities and adventures to do at Upton.

Try the explorer trail

Have a go at the orienteering trail over the holidays. Navigate your way to the special markers and follow the trail round the gardens, collecting letter clues as you go. Good for kids of all ages, including little ones.

Pick up an adventure pack to help you explore

Want to entertain the family whilst enjoying our outdoor spaces? Pick up an adventure pack from reception. There are spotting sheets, activities and tools to use to help you explore and play in our grounds. Have fun through learning, and please remember to return our equipment on your way out. Best for primary aged kids with a bit of guidance from the family.

Run a muck in the woodland

Take a detour into the woodland near visitor reception and you’ll discover logs to climb on, walk along, jump over, tunnels that lead you round and rooms under the holly trees.

Head inside the house for more adventures

Have you ever moved house?  What was it like?  Did you enjoy thinking about decorating your new bedroom?  Explore new story in the house, all about how Upton was bought in 1927 by Lord Bearsted and how he and his wife who gave it a new lease of life and deorated it in the latest fashion.
